Description

Senate Report (115-139) accompanying the Consolidated Appropriations Act 2018 (P.L. 115-141) directed the Department of Justice to lead a multi-agency task force to address the legal and jurisdictional issues related to forced labour in fishing in international waters. The goal is to convene federal agencies that handle law enforcement, labour law, and international issues to develop a report and recommendations for a coordinated response to address the complex legal and jurisdictional issues involved.
