Description= p> |
The resolution reaffirmed the condemnation, i= n the strongest terms, of all instances of trafficking in persons, especial= ly women and children, who made up the vast majority of all trafficking vic= tims in areas affected by armed conflict. The resolution also gives greater= consideration to how peacekeeping and political missions could help host s= tates in combatting human trafficking. It also requested that the UN Secret= ary General ensure the inclusion of trafficking in assessments of country s= ituations and in the training of mission personnel, which would help in ide= ntifying, confirming, responding and reporting on situations of trafficking= . The resolution calls upon United Nations system organizations to en= hance transparency in their procurement and supply chains and step up their= efforts to strengthen protections against trafficking in persons in all Un= ited Nations procurement and to that effect, request major suppliers to est= ablish and implement anti-human trafficking policies and disclose informati= on on measures taken to counter trafficking in persons in their operations = and supply chains. |
